Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards

Terms and Conditions

  • Entry is free and artists can submit up to 3 entries.
  • Register by completing the online registration form.
  • Original artwork created in the last two years can be entered. Artists can submit images now or at a later date if creating new work.
  • Acceptable media: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Installation, Photography, Print, Video Art and Performance Art.
  • There is no maximum physical size to the artworks that can be submitted but it should be noted that the exhibition space at The House of St Barnabas is limited.
  • Images of artworks must be in jpeg format. Maximum file size is 1MB.
  • On the application form artists must include:
    • Title of artwork
    • Medium
    • Size (including any frame)
    • Price
  • Photography, digital work and print must state the number of limited editions.
  • Only one image of each artwork may be submitted and should be titled with the artist’s surname, then first name and title of work, e.g. SMITH-John-Title-of-Work
  • Any work submitted must be available for sale in the exhibition with prices set by the artist.
  • Artists must state an estimated sale price of the work (including VAT if registered) i.e. the price a gallery would normally charge.
  • The agreed selling price will be divided as follows:
    • 50% to the artist
    • 25% to The House of St Barnabas charity
    • 25% to the Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards
  • A current CV and an artist’s statement will be required if shortlisted.
  • Art Awards finalists will be invited to join the Art Awards Isle of Wight touring exhibition from 9 June to 30 July 2018, separate terms and conditions apply.
  • Artists should not send physical artworks unless notified that they have been shortlisted.
  • The organisers of the Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards and the selection panellists reserve the right to accept or reject any artwork for inclusion in the exhibition. The decision of the panellists is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
  • If shortlisted for the exhibition, all pieces are entered at the artist’s own risk. It is the artist’s responsibility to pay for all costs relating to delivery, shipping and packaging for their artworks, including any import customs charges and duties.
  • Artists are strongly advised to take out their own commercial insurance to cover their artworks in transit and during the period of selection and exhibition.
  • The Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards will not be liable for any loss or damage however caused, either in transit to and from the exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking or in any period in which the artwork may be in the premises or in their keeping.
  • The copyright of the artworks exhibited and shown at The House of St Barnabas will remain the property of the artist, but it is a condition of entry that the Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards shall have the right of free reproduction of the artworks in connection with the competition, including press, publicity, website, catalogues, and other printed materials.
  • The processes of the competition may be filmed, and entering the competition constitutes agreement for the artists and their artworks to be included in such filming, whether broadcast or not.
  • In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Emerald Winter Pride Art Awards will hold the personal data supplied securely. It will only be used in the process of administering the Emerald Winter Pride Arts Awards and will not be transferred to any third party.
  • Artworks should be delivered and collected by the artists (or their appointed couriers) on the appointed date from the allocated collection point.
