The UK Pride Organisers Network today announced it has launched a new UK Pride anthem based on the classic song We Are Family with all proceeds supporting Pride events across the UK. As a founding member of the UK Pride Organisers Network, Winter Pride London which takes place 25 February will provide a debut live performance of the new anthem.

The live debut performance by rising vocal powerhouse Reigns and NYC based producers Disco Fries at Scala on 25 February will be a highlight moment during Winter Pride. The song which has been mastered by Cass Irvine at Wired Masters, London, and has guitars by DOMENICO, is available for download today. 100% of download and streaming royalties will be donated to the UK Pride Organisers Network newly setup ‘Hardship fund’ designed to ensure the success of Pride events around the UK.

UK Pride Organisers Network Co-Chair Andy Train :

“The Pride movement champions our community’s diversity and highlight areas of inequality we need to address together. This anthem is an uplifting version of the classic We Are Family which we hope will play at all 94 Prides around the UK in 2017. The song choice speaks to the founding principle of the UK Pride Organisers Network and that is that like family, Prides support one another.”

“With the proceeds being donated to our newly created ‘Pride Hardship Fund’, we’ll be ensuring even the smallest of Pride events have access to the funds they need to go put their events on. What better way to celebrate who you are whilst also supporting the LGBT+ community than at the debut of We Are Family Winter Pride in London.””

Winter Pride founder Rebecca Paisis said:

“Our theme #WeAreFamily speaks to the need for us all to come together, now more than ever, to support each other. We’ve seen a rise in hate crime in recent times, but we know that love trumps hate, and our event promises to bring us together for a celebration that makes a real difference to our community

“As one of the first Pride events in the UK for 2017, we’re proud to be supporting other UK Prides as well as Switchboard and use the live debut performance of the song to start a cascade of hope and love across the year.”

Disco Fries duo Nick and Danny commented:

“Being a part of this social campaign and helping to create a positive anthem for the LGBT+ community is what we always hope to achieve with our music. To us it’s about inspiration and empowerment. While we live in challenging times, ‘We are Family’ sends a strong universal message, pursuing the idea that #LoveIsLove.”

The event which sees the return of the iconic Popstarz at Scala promises to be bigger and better than ever with four rooms of entertainment and special pyrotechnics.

Winter Pride aims to cater for the entire LGBT+ community with gender neutral toilets throughout the venue, and specific women’s and trans spaces alongside mixed rooms.

The DJ lineup is also set to include Guy Williams, Jamie Bull, Tommy Turntables, Michelle Manetti, Izzy Trixx, Yvette Lindquist, Denice the Menace, R&She, Rebel Rebel – Tony & Dan, Laurence (Douche Bag), Voguing – House of Iris. Plus a make over area provided by Seventa Image.
