Winter Pride set to be bigger than ever with the return of Popstarz
Winter Pride today announced it is bringing back the legendary Popstarz to the iconic Scala in partnership with Smirnoff.
Taking place on February 25th, organisers say the event promises to be bigger and better than ever with four rooms of entertainment and special pyrotechnics.
The DJ lineup is also set to include Guy Williams, Jamie Bull, Tommy Turntables and Michelle Manetti with a range of RnB, Britpop, Motown, and pop ‘guilty pleasures’.
Popstarz creator Tommy Turntables said:
“I’m so excited to be bringing back Popstarz for one special night. The Scala was our home for eight years and I can’t think of anywhere better to help raise money for a good cause.”
Winter Pride founder Rebecca Paisis said:
“I created Winter Pride to bring a moment of excitement to the dark Winter months. In 2017 we’ll be showcasing even more diversity than ever from our very talented community with literally something for everyone. From voguing to a glass bar girls room and everything in between.
“Following the tragedy of Orlando just over six months ago and the recent rise in LGBT+ hate crime in the UK it’s more important than ever we come together as family and celebrate LGBT+ culture.
“I’m so pleased to be bringing back Popstarz for one special night and have some exciting surprises in store.”
Winter Pride aims to cater for the entire LGBT+ community and will host specific women’s and trans spaces alongside mixed rooms.
